Get ready for the holidays with these 3 beautiful brass bells! The bells are authentic pieces from S.S. Sarna Inc., a famous mid-century importer founded by Sajan Singh Sarna. He began bringing traditional Indian handicrafts to the United States in the 1920s. By the 1950s and 1960s, these brass bells on braided cords became a massive home decor trend across America. The bells are graduated in size.
Each specific style of Sarna bell actually had its own traditional story and purpose detailed on an attached paper hangtag. Based on the distinct engraved leaf pattern on yours, these are the "Gunna" Sugar Cane Bells, which were traditionally used in India to celebrate sweet harvests.
- Brand: Authentic Bells of Sarna (Stamped "Bells of Sarna REG" / "INDIA" on the inside lip)
